The transport services are developed with the participation of National Federations and FINA experts in accordance with the Championships competition schedule and individual demands for each sport. Dynamic planning allows flexibility in terms of providing transport services, enabling the organisers to make adjustments to the schedule immediately during the Championships, in order to comply with possible changes to event timings.

The following types of vehicles will be used to carry athletes and delegation members:

  • Tourist coach. Capacity: 40-50 seats. Coaches will travel between arrival/departure points, to/from sports and training venues.
  • Minibus. Capacity: 12-18 seats. Minibuses will travel between arrival/departure points, to/from selected competition venues.

Bus service will be provided to move athletes and delegation members, as well as their luggage and equipment from the Kazan International Airport and railway stations Kazan-1 and Kazan-2 to their accommodation and back.

National delegations consisting of 20 people and more will have special vehicles assigned to transport them to their places of accommodatio. Buses will be equipped with appropriate signs featuring the number of a route and destinations, depending on the point of arrival. Upon their arrival, national delegations will be able to ask for the number of a vehicle at information desks located at the airport and railway stations. From arrival halls to buses, delegations will be escorted by staff members of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects – the Championships Official Organiser (hereinafter referred to as ‘Official Organiser’). Shortly before departure, details on a vehicle available for airport transfer will be available at information desks located at places of accommodation. Special buses will run from delegations’ accommodation to the Accreditation Centre according to a fixed schedule.

Athletes competing in individual sports will be provided with shuttles running from their places of accommodation to competition and training venues and back. Each shuttle will have its own designated boarding area near athletes’ accommodation. Vehicles will have signs featuring the route code and name of a sports venue. Transport managers will be available at boarding and parking areas to arrange traffic flow and assist athletes in boarding or unboarding shuttles. All athletes, regardless of their involvement in individual or team sport, are allowed to use shuttles. There will be no shuttles available to venues situated within walking distance (no more than 1 kilometre to places of accommodation). Athletes and delegation members are advised to walk to these competition and training venues on foot.

Each national water polo team will have an individual vehicle assigned to transport them to/from competition and training venues. The vehicle will operate according to a preapproved schedule and will be assigned to the team for the entire duration of the competition or practice. Boarding times must be approved in advance by a team representative and an OC staff member in charge.

Athletes undergoing doping control will be able to use specially designated vehicles that will transport them from sports venues to their accommodation.

Special vehicles will be assigned to transport athletes from competition and training venues to medical institutions for emergency first aid. After medical assistance is provided, the athletes are taken to their places of accommodation.

Buses will be assigned to deliver athletes and delegation members to/from the Championships Opening/Closing Ceremonies. Boarding a bus travelling to the Ceremonies venue and back will be allowed only at designated areas. Each delegation will be provided with details of transport arrangement for the Opening/Closing Ceremonies, time of departure and boarding/unboarding areas.
