The Russian Swimming Federation (RSF) is currently actively preparing reserve athletes who in the near future may join the Russian national team and represent the country at the domestic FINA World Championships in Kazan. This was announced by RSF President and FINA Bureau Member Vladimir Salnikov in an interview with the official Kazan 2015 website.

Yet again the host city of the 16th FINA World Championships – Kazan – welcomes representatives of the International Swimming Federation (FINA). Together with members of the Kazan 2015 Organising Committee, composed mostly of employees of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, the FINA delegates will begin two days of meetings to address key aspects of preparations for the future competition.

The exhibition display of the 16th FINA World Championships was presented at the Sport'14 International Exhibition for Sports Industry, which opened in the All-Russian Exhibition Centre, Moscow on March 25. Russia’s Sport Minister Vitaly Mutko was one of the first special guests to visit the Kazan 2015 exhibition stand.

The organisers of the 16th FINA World Championships began training the team of drivers to deliver the best transport services at the upcoming sporting event. A meeting was held in the Kazan Motor Transport Technical School named after A.P. Obydennov with drivers who had worked during the Kazan 2013 Summer Universiade, and the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The International Swimming Federation (FINA) officially included the 2014 editions of the Russian National Swimming Championships and Russian National Swimming Cup in the list of qualifying events for the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan. According to the FINA 2015 qualifying procedure, the list of events where athletes can compete to meet A and B standard times encloses continental championships, international and national competitions confirmed in advance by FINA. Competitions held in 2015 should be approved by FINA no later than December 31, 2014.

Starting today, a number of higher education institutions of Kazan engage in the preparation for the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan. Nine universities and institutes have been officially announced today as non-profit partners for the event at the Coordination Council for Educational Work under the Rectors' Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.

With the TV audience of the 2015 FINA World Championships expected to exceed 4.5 billion viewers, the Eurovision Production Coordination was entrusted to act as the main broadcasting company for the upcoming international aquatics event. Its experts have arrived in Kazan for a first-hand assessment of the volume of the future work.

The Kazan 2015 Organising Committee presented a progress report on the preparation of the 16th FINA World Championships at the FINA Bureau meeting in Cancun (Mexico). The delegation includes FINA Bureau Member and President of the Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov, Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate – the Official Organiser for the 16th FINA World Championships Kazan 2015 Azat Kadyrov.
