Head of the Volunteer Department at the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate – the Official Organiser for the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan – Alexander Karpov and volunteers of the 27th Summer Universiade and the 22nd Olympic Winter Games 2014 met with students to tell them about the upcoming World Championships and possibilities of contributing to the event through volunteering. The meeting took place in Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering (KSUAE) on April 16 and is already the eighth in a row.

The 16th FINA World Championships were presented at the 19th KAZAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION FOR TOURISM & SPORT KITS 2014. The event takes place in the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre on April 11 and 12.

Kazan is to play host to the first ever FINA High Diving World Cup. It will be held on the left bank of the Kazanka River on August 8-10. The host city agreement was sealed today on the sidelines of the SportAccord International Convention in Belek, Turkey. The document was signed by FINA President Dr. Julio C. Maglione, FINA Executive Director Cornel Marculescu and Azat Kadyrov, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate – the Official Organiser of the 16th FINA World Championships.

The 16th FINA World Championships were presented at the SportAccord International Convention in Belek, Turkey. The event takes place between April 6 and 11. The SportAccord International Convention is a global sports and political event which annually brings together more than 100 leading representatives from the sport industry: international sports federations, International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Committee, International University Sports Federation (FISU), major sports event-hosting cities and other organisations.

Tatarstan volunteers are back home from Sochi. Just the other day they have completed their work at the 22nd Olympic Winter Games, where they were involved across an array of functional areas: Opening and Closing Ceremonies, IT, assistance to the National Olympic Committees, sports programme and medical services.

The first working meeting was held on March 27 with heads of volunteer centres of Tatarstan’s universities that had entered into the cooperation with the Kazan 2015 organisers in the build-up to the upcoming FINA World Championships. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the plan of activities for the near future.

Another FINA inspection visit comes to end in Kazan ahead of the 16th World Aquatics Championships to be held here in 2015. The visit that lasted two days culminated with the FINA executives - President Julio C. Maglione and Executive Director Cornel Marculescu - meeting with President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.

The official marks of the 16th FINA World Championships were presented at the Kazan Arena Stadium on March 27. President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Dr. Julio C. Maglione, FINA Executive Director Cornel Marculescu and Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Azat Kadyrov unveiled the slogan, the logo and the mascots of the upcoming sporting event.
