Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov in Arkhangelsk is currently holding the ordinary forum of volunteers of Northwestern Federal District, whose participants are the 200 volunteers aged 14-30 years from Arkhangelsk, Krasnodar kray, Vologda, Murmansk, Leningrad, Novgorod and Ryazan oblasts.

The Volga Federal District Volunteer Forum kicked off on May 5 at the Volga Youth Centre, Kazan. The event was organised by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) with the support of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate. The two-day programme will address two types of volunteer activities: social volunteering and sports volunteering. The forum participants will discuss common practices and opportunities to develop these two trends in the Russian youth community, to share experiences and to map out cooperation plans for the near future.

Russian Minister of Sport and Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 16 FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan, Vitaly Mutko, met in Moscow with President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Julio César Maglione. Mr. Mutko briefed the head of the FINA Family on Kazan’s preparations for the world aquatics event.

It is the fourth time Kazan presents its sports projects at the International Congress of Sports Press Association (AIPS). This year's edition takes place in Baku, Azerbaijan and will be a celebration as the AIPS marks 90 years since it foundation.

The Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship kicked off in Kazan’s Aquatics Palace on Sunday, April 27.

The Moscow Department of Culture will be the official partner for the volunteer programme of the 16th FINA World Championships 2015. As early as in August 2014, Moscow volunteers will be involved in staging major events in Kazan - the FINA High Diving World Cup and the Russian Canoe Sprint Championships. Corresponding agreements were signed by Head of Moscow’s Department of Culture and Moscow Government Minister, Sergey Kapkov, and Azat Kadyrov, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate – the Official Organiser for the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan.

The Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship kicks off in Kazan on April 27. Up to 300 athletes and 48 official delegates will represent 15 regions of Russia at the event. Among them are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow Oblast, Republic of Tatarstan, Sverdlovsk and Rostov Oblasts, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (Yugra). Three synchro swimmers from Israel are also expected to take part in the tournament; they will be performing hors concours.
