The ceremonial opening of the 2014 Volunteers' Academy All-Russian Training Camp took place in the Volga Youth Centre on September 16. During the whole upcoming week, 100 leaders of the volunteer movement from 20 Russian regions will familiarise themselves with the volunteer programme of the FINA World Championships 2015 and make plans for its successful implementation at the federal level.

The 2014 Volunteers' Academy All-Russian Volunteer Training Camp will be held in Kazan in the lead-up to the launch of the volunteer recruitment process for next year's international aquatics event. Representatives of regional volunteer centres that partnered with the Official Organiser of the 16th FINA World Championships - Executive Directorate for Sports Projects - will gather in Kazan for the training event.

Young people of the North Caucasus Federal District found out about volunteering opportunities created for them to get involved in the excitement of the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan. The experience that the capital of Tatarstan has accumulated in the field of sports volunteering and is currently putting to good use was presented at the Mashuk 2014 North Caucasus Youth Forum, which will run from August 4-17.

To date, 26 ministries and departments representing 20 regions of the Russian Federation and 11 universities of the Republic of Tatarstan have concluded an agreement with the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects - the official organiser of the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan. As part of this cooperation, the all-Russian team is going to implement the Kazan 2015 volunteer recruitment, selection and training programme, as well as to assist in the promotion of the tournament and aquatic sports.

A global project that is unique in terms of its content and scale – All-Russian Youth Forum Seliger 2014 – is underway on Lake Seliger, Tver Oblast between July 13 and August 10. The tenth anniversary edition of the forum will be organised as usual by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. Alexander Karpov, Head of the Volunteer Department at the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, was invited to act as a moderator at the workshop dedicated to sports volunteering.

The Volga Federal District Youth Forum iVolga 2014 took place at the Festival Park (Lakes Mastryukovskie), Samara Oblast between June 18 and 28. The event was hosted by the Samara Oblast Government with the support from the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. The 16th FINA World Aquatics Championships were presented at one of the sites of the forum.

The Volga Federal District Volunteer Forum kicked off on May 5 at the Volga Youth Centre, Kazan. The event was organised by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) with the support of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate. The two-day programme will address two types of volunteer activities: social volunteering and sports volunteering. The forum participants will discuss common practices and opportunities to develop these two trends in the Russian youth community, to share experiences and to map out cooperation plans for the near future.

Tatarstan volunteers are back home from Sochi. Just the other day they have completed their work at the 22nd Olympic Winter Games, where they were involved across an array of functional areas: Opening and Closing Ceremonies, IT, assistance to the National Olympic Committees, sports programme and medical services.
