A month has passed since the volunteer programme of the 16th FINA World Championships entered the face-to-face phase. The selection progress is well underway and interviews with volunteer candidates are held every day in 20 regions of Russia. The Kazan 2015 Organising Committee is going to recruit 2,500 volunteers, 2,000 of them will be from Tatarstan and 500 will come from other Russian regions. Meanwhile, the Kazan Volunteer Recruitment Centre welcomed its 1,000th candidate who turned out to be the student of the Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University Timur Khasanov.

On December 5, 2014, on International Volunteer Day, the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects presented some of the preliminary results from the implementation of the volunteer programme for the 16th FINA World Championships. The recruitment centre was opened today in the main building of the Volga Region Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism to kick off a selection process of volunteers for next summer's major aquatics competition.

November 20, 2014 marks the official kickoff of the new stage of the volunteer programme for the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan. With the volunteer training programme entering the recruitment stage, since that day all those who applied to be volunteers at next year's international aquatics events may be contacted by the Organising Committee for interviews.

The Executive Directorate for Sports Projects held a volunteer recognition ceremony to acknowledge members of the Kazan Volunteers team following the results of the events held in the spring-summer 2014. Working side-by-side with the organising committees, the volunteers donated 25,360 hours to the delivery of this season's sporting and non-sporting events.

On September 20, 2014 the volunteer application process was launched on the official website of the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan. A little more than a month is gone and over 10,000 candidates from 43 countries have already applied to contribute to a successful staging of next summer's major sporting event.

Participants of the educational forum, titled ' Rostov 2014. Your World in Motion!', were offered a wonderful chance to learn more about the 16th FINA World Championships, host city, volunteer programme and positions available for this sporting event.

The Organising Committee officially kicked off the volunteer application process for the 2015 FINA World Championships. The volunteer recruitment began on the sidelines of the 2014 Volunteers' Academy All-Russian Training Camp, which is currently underway in Kazan.

Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, Azat Kadyrov, met with members of the 2014 Volunteers' Academy All-Russian Training Camp. For up to an hour he's been talking about Russia's past, present and future sports achievements, traditions, innovations and prospects of sports volunteering.
