As the national partner, Kaspersky Lab provided Kaspersky Total Security for Business, a complex solution for a comprehensive protection of the information network system against all types of cyber threats. This platform ensured the safety of workstations, mobile devices, file and e-mail servers, as well as joint work networks and Internet web gateways of the Championships Directorate. And a specialised solution for the protection of DDoS attacks – Kaspersky DDoS Prevention – provided a constant operating capability and availability of the Championships web resources. Over the period of partnership, Kaspersky Lab experts ensured the 24/7 operation and technical support of the protection system and also conducted a non-stop monitoring aimed at detecting and blocking new types of Internet threats.
“4.5 bln TV viewers all over the world watched the tournament, while representatives of 190 countries arrived in Kazan. The scale of the event implies a high level of responsibility and we must be confident that the Championships’ information systems are effectively protected. When choosing the partner, we first of all focused on whether our partner candidates’ portfolios feature projects of this level of difficulty and responsibility. Kaspersky Lab experts pulled of their task brilliantly and created a reliable and high-quality security of all IT systems,” Dmitry Mikhailov, Deputy Director General of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects, said.
“It is not the first time when we offer our services at such a high-profile sporting event; earlier we provided the security of IT infrastructure at the Olympic Games in Sochi and at the Summer Universiade in Kazan. A smooth operation of information resources at major international tournaments is an honourable and crucial task and I’m glad that we’ve succeeded in it and proved the efficiency of our approaches and solutions,” said Sergey Zemkov, Kaspersky Lab Managing Director for Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia.
