Day 13 of the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan will be remembered as the day marked with the conclusion of the high diving tournament and the kickoff of the medal hunt in the women's water polo competitions. As for swimming, the fans have already memorised three key names – Cseh, Peaty and Ledecky – because these three names were announced more frequently than others at the Kazan Arena Stadium.

The Kazanka Venue has never seen such excitement as today, when the world's strongest athletes took part in the 27m platform final.

Britain's Gary Hunt disappeared from high diving for two years after the World Championships in Barcelona, where he only came third, so his victory was especially triumphant (although his superiority was already obvious in the preliminary round). The season is not yet over for him, so the public can expect new surprises from the champion, but in the meantime, let him drink champagne.

The first gold in the swimming pool of the Kazan Arena Stadium in today's competitions was snatched by Hungarian hope and experienced fighter Laszlo Cseh, who finished fastest in the 200m butterfly event. A couple of days ago, the athlete shared bronze in the 50m butterfly, and it seems that the fact that he was really close to the top podium spot gave him the push he needed. But what else would you expect from the 5-time Olympic champion?

The British athlete performed well in Kazan: he set a world record in the 50m semifinal, and won the 100m breaststroke event. The swimmer said that the spectators in Kazan gave him a push, so to some extent he owes his victory to the fans’ great support.
