July 24 - August 9, 2015
During the meeting, the volunteers told the Mayor about how they see the Championships, and depending on their 'angle', impressions vary: team attachés see the competition through the eyes of the athletes, while some see it through the eyes of reporters or photographers, and others from behind the scenes of ceremonies, and yet others through the eyes of the spectators. But the most important thing is that the absolute majority of those in Kazan, irrespective of whether they are an athlete or a tourist, notice the special atmosphere in the city. The Mayor noted that much of the credit for this goes to the team of volunteers, who have long been a trademark of the host city. The volunteers' professional approach, cordiality and hospitality are another highlight of the Kazan Championships, that has already been repeatedly mentioned by high officials.
Among the participants of the meeting were volunteers with extensive experience, who already have under their belt such sporting events as the 2013 Summer Universiade, the Olympic Games in Sochi, and a multitude of test events. Comparing the FINA World Championships with previous experience, the volunteers emphasised that Kazan had once again stepped up to a new level: the capital of Tatarstan is now hosting one of the most watched events in the world of sport. "Today, everyone is watching Kazan, and that means watching us. Being part of this great event is a great honour for all of us," said Irina Savostyanova, a volunteer guide at the FINA Expo Pavilion.

The Support the Russian National Team campaign kicked off on July 24. 11 city volunteer booths were opened at different locations around the city where anyone could write their own message for the Russian team on special cards. In a matter of days, more than 10,000 wishes were collected from locals and visitors alike, and of course, in each card people wished Russian athletes luck, world records and medals. The ceremonial handover of the wishes is scheduled for August 5 and is intended to support the team before key FINA Worlds competitions.
