After an intense competition, the Chinese athlete became the winner of the last final of the diving competitions at the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan. He was best in the men's 10m platform.

"I am in a good mood and happy with today's results. I would like to thank the audience for the support. The final today was great. The atmosphere at the competition was very exciting. In 2002, I was thinking about leaving the world of sport, but it was the support of my family and the team that helped me go on. I have overcome the difficulties and carried on," Qiu Bo said to reporters.

The champion told reporters that he listened to music after each dive.

"This is a good way to suppress anxiety, it helps stay concentrated," said the diver.

Qiu Bo wants to perform even better at the Olympics.

The champion of the Olympic Games in London David Boudia won the preliminary round, but came second in the final losing almost 30 points to the champion.

"I should say I have not watched all the competitions, but I feel the tension in the air, a bad dive in the final was unacceptable. And all of us did fine. I am glad that I managed to adequately represent the US team. All the finalists deserve great credit! I have been asked several times about the semifinals. The fifth result in the world is not bad at all. And after all, the results in preliminary rounds and semifinals do not mean anything. I knew it, and before today's competition I imagined that I started from the very beginning, and we all are equal. I changed the order of announced dives and it turned out to be a good idea," said David at the press conference.

The athlete said he received a lot of text messages from relatives during the evening, and missed his wife and daughter very much, but that is his job and he has got to be here. When asked about his plans for medals, the Olympic champion said that he was very persistent and always wanted to win.

"I knew I had 6 more dives and I could make it. Perhaps it did not work very well today, and I won the second place, but I gave my 100% to it. We still have time before Rio and we will work harder," explained the athlete from the United States.

Thomas Daley has already managed to become part of history of the World Championships in Kazan, he won the team competition in the mixed with Rebecca Gallantree. He is very pleased with his performance during the season as a whole.

"It was a very exciting competition event. And I am happy with the result. My second dive was not very strong, with an average score of 6.5 points only. This is my new dive and I know I will have to work on it and improve it to the appropriate level - we have already discussed it with my coach after the competition. Sport is sport. We have to keep working, carry on competing, because you never know what happens in the last round. During the final dive, a competitor from Mexico received a good score, and I knew that I only needed to perform a better dive," said the British athlete.
