Beatboxer Mitya Burmistrov: We will offer an exclusive programme in the Park today

28.07.2015, 17:00 Interviews
Today at 19:00, a concert of Dmitry Burmistrov, a famous beatboxer from Kazan, will be held in the FINA Water World Park. Mitya's fans were able to see him in the Park this afternoon. Several hours before his performance, he conducted sound check and she some light on his evening concert.

– Mitya, what kind of surprise can the audience expect today?

– There will be an audio and video performance. Our handsome faces, both shaven and unshaven, and our hands manipulations will be the key surprise. We will be thrumming, singing, and screaming.

– A vast programme, indeed...

– Yes, there is so much to do!

– This June, you presented your Crest album, where you came out as a vocalist. Could you tell us of this experience?

– To be honest, it was a long way, and the album was a logical outcome of a certain period of time. For the last two years following my arrival from the USA, where my mind turned upside down, I started composing, and later I started recording and re-recording it and playing different instruments, which resulted in a small album at last. We will offer an exclusive programme in the Park today, performing the songs from our first album, the one issued, and from a new one that we are going to issue pretty soon.  Can you imagine it? Folks will come and see all that!

– Could you tell us about your team you will be playing with tonight?

– They are my friends. They are my brothers. In general, they are talented musicians of Kazan. Musical cream of the crop. Dmitry Krapivin (guitar), Aidar Gainullin (bass guitar), Yarik Beloglazov (beatboxing imitation through drumming), and a new guy, Mikhail Korsakov, a keyboard player. It will be our second concert in such line-up, with the second keyboard player. We have been experimenting!

– You often take part in various sports and youth events. Why are they so attractive for you?

– Well, well, because of the fees. No. Why are they attractive for me? Most probably, because of the organisers, many thanks to them. Deep in my soul, I have been a decrepit tree for long. I think it will finish soon, and I will stop leaving home, will sew up tears in my moth-pocked rug, and will weep at night. So, you will see how it will all change. I am kidding.

– Have you been to any competitions of the 16th FINA World Championships already?

– No. I have had a chance to take part in the Be a Kazan 2015 Ambassador project, and I have dived from a three-metre springboard. That has been all my involvement in the FINA Worlds 2015. Besides, I have performed at the site of Lada, the Championship General Partner, and now I am going to eat pastry triangles.

– Why did not you become a Kazan 2015 Ambassador as a result?

– Because a person who could swim 50 metres quicker than I became an Ambassador. And anyway, I just left my lucky penny home that day.

– What is your opinion of the FINA Water World Park and your today's concert site?

– I like it! It would be great to have crowds of tourists all the time, but on the other hand, it would have been such a madhouse! Everyone would have danced, athletes would have stopped training, and old ladies would have caught too much sun. And it is no good! The FINA Water World Park is just wonderful, and we are going to have a concert here. What more could one ask for?
