FINA Water World Park: fun for everyone

From July 24 to August 16, the FINA Water World Park will be open to the public near the Kazan Arena Stadium. The cultural programme of the Park, which is the main entertainment venue for local people and tourists coming for the Championships, has been designed specifically to attract the maximum number of visitors. Throughout the Championships, the Park’s attendees will be able to see performances featuring world-class artists and to get acquainted with Tatarstan’s national culture.

The Park will be open daily 12:00-22:00. Its programme will offer an array of entertainment events. A Welcome to Kazan concert will be held every day 12:00-14:00. An interactive programme featuring fun-filled activities with MCs will thrill the Park’s visitors 14:00-17:00. And at 17:00 best music bands, dancing and singing ensembles from all over Russia will light up the main stage with their performances. The Iskushenie (Temptation) St. Petersburg Dance Theatre, which is famous for its unique shows in the rain, will stage its performances daily from 21 till 22. It will be the highlight of the programme.

The Park’s visitors will also be able to watch live broadcasts of the Championships events. For this purpose the organisers will use the Kazan Arena Stadium’s media façade, which is the biggest in Europe; the Championships Opening/Closing Ceremonies will be broadcast here as well. In the meantime, the Opening/Closing Ceremonies for the FINA World Masters will be held right in the FINA Water World Park.

Throughout the Championships, local citizens and visitors attending the FINA Water World Park will be treated to an explosion of cultural performances including gigs by the world-known Red Ribbon band and gala concerts of such major cultural events as the Jazz in Sandetsky Mansion Festival, Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk Festival, Kremlin LIVE Festival, Music of Faith International Festival, etc. Young generation will be possibly interested in the RockWave Festival, Energy Rock Festival, KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive) Festival, etc. Such big-name ensembles as the State Folk Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan, Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan and State Folklore Music Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan will provide a glimpse into the national culture and heritage through their music. On July 27, the best videographers will gather in the Park to compete for the Kazan championship title in time-lapse photography, and on August 6, the winner of the Miss Championships Beauty Pageant will be chosen in the Park.

Admission to the Park for all local citizens and visitors is going to be free of charge no matter whether they are going to attend the competitions or not. Admission will be allowed through two security stations, the first one located in Chistopolskaya Street (with 15,000 through-flow rate), and the second one located in Prospekt Yamasheva Street (20,000 through-flow rate). From there all visitors will have to cross the stylobate before entering the Kazan Arena Stadium, where music, dancing and drama performances of the second All-Russian Street Performers Festival Kulturniy Sdvig ('Cultural Shift') will take place.

Partner-sponsored booths and activities will be also available at the FINA Water World Park. Among them are Lada Campus, kart racing and playground supplied by OAO AVTOVAZ, photo booths, meet and greet area, ARENA wishboard and amusement park provided by Kaspersky Lab and various entertainment events brought to the Park’s attendees by Planet Fitness, ZAO Schenker Russia, BIM Radio, OAO Tatneft-AZS Centre, ООО Sportmaster and MEGA Shopping Mall. Besides, a folk art installation will be set up within the FINA Water World Park. The site with a total area of 2,800 sq. m. will bring together Tatar, Russian, Mari and Chuvash types of farmstead, including their national cuisines and crafts. All in all the FINA Water World Park will become a multimedia venue where everyone will find the activities to their liking.
