The final day of the FINA Diving World Series is coming to an end in Kazan.

The women’s 10m platform event kicked off the closing day of the FINA Diving World Series in Kazan. Daria GOVOR failed to qualify through the semifinal finishing fifth in her group. Yulia TIMOSHININA was luckier and managed to squeeze into the final.

In the final round, the Russian diver showed the fourth result with a total of 343.35. A real struggle unfolded for the top spot on the podium between China’s Ruolin CHEN and Meaghan BENFEITO of Canada who eventually snatched victory away from her opponent. The Canadian diver finished less than two points ahead of Ruolin CHEN.

Results in the men’s 10m platform semifinal made it clear that spectators were going to see an uncompromising and unpredictable final. The divers didn’t disappoint their fans and demonstrated top-class performance. Bo QIU of China claimed gold while Mexico’s German SANCHEZ, who was earlier unbeatable during the morning session, ended up as runner-up. Bronze went to another Chinese diver Jian YANG. Victor MINIBAEV settled for fourth place.

I had a long break and it has had its consequences,” Victor MINIBAEV said. “I liked the pool very much. As for the Aquatics Palace, the venue is just awesome. There is a good reason why Kazan was chosen to host the FINA World Championships.”
